The title has been created a remarkable eleven times, eight as "Duke of York" and three as the double-barrelled "Duke of York and Albany". Since 1461, when the great-grandson of the first duke became King Edward IV, not one of the ten subsequent holders of the title has ever passed it on: they either died without male heirs or became King themselves.
We’re proud to say our menu is packed with Great British pub food classics, including iconic dishes like our hand-battered fish and chips, pie and mash and succulent burgers.
Our drinks include a great range of real ales and an extensive wine list. Our cask ales range has some of the best in British beers, including the new 1730, our very own special pale ale. The team at the Duke of York look forward to welcoming you soon at this fantastic traditional London pub in Mayfair.
