Rugby World Cup 2019 - Date, time & how to watch.

The biggest party in world rugby is upon us. It's an event that never fails to live up to it’s moniker – the ‘greatest show on earth’ - so we have created this page about all the pubs showing the Rugby World Cup 2019. After the scintillating Six Nations earlier this year, there is tonnes to be excited about. All four home nations in attendance and the prospect of players coming out of retirement to feature is frankly mouth watering.

The party this time is being beamed from Japan, admittedly, not a country particularly well known for the sport. But who could possibly forget the upset of the century when they pipped South Africa to victory in 2015? It was surely written in the stars that they had already been chosen to host the next instalment.

Relive that epic climax from 2015 courtesy of this year's giant-killing hosts.

They’re sure to put on quite a show but the only minor concern is the eight-hour time difference between Tokyo and the UK. It means that some matches will kick off at rather ungodly hours. But fear not, a little birdy tells us that pubs will be opening their doors early enough for home nations fans to get their feet under the table in time for kick-off.

What date is it?

The tournament kicks off on Friday 20th September.

When are the games?

Due to the significant time difference, games could kick off anytime between 5.45AM - 11.45AM. Most of the matches involving the home nations have been given priority to kick off later and mostly on the weekend. This is also the case for the knockout matches.

Where are they being played?

Host cities include Tokyo, Kamaishi, Kumagaya, Sapporo, Yokohama, Shizuoka, Toyota, Osaka, Kobe, Fukuoka, Kumamoto & Oita.

What channel is it on?

ITV has the exclusive rights to broadcast the tournament live.

Can I watch it in the pub?

YES! Click here see a list of UK and Ireland pubs showing the rugby World Cup. Alternatively, if you're looking for somewhere special to watch the action you can click here to see a list of the best pubs showing the Rugby World Cup.

Who are the favourites?

It shouldn't come as any suprise that the favourties to lift the Webb Ellis Cup are New Zealand...followed closely, we hasten to add, by England.

What happened last time?

The All Blacks made history to win their third World Cup in 2015, thereby becoming the most succesful side in the sport's history.
