The wonderful market town of Roscrea is located right at the heart of the Emerald Isle. County Tipperary boasts a whole host of towns where sport is high up on the agenda for the local people, but none quite like Roscrea. Boasting numerous amateur sports clubs in the area, you can bank on finding large swathes of locals packing in to the pubs and bars after their own matches are over and turning their eye to the pros on the T.V. Obviously, one of the biggest sporting attraction occupying the T.V screens in pubs is the local’s beloved Munster rugby team. Never has it been easier to find pubs showing Munster playing in the Pro14.
Roscrea is home to numerous amateur sports clubs and there is nothing more than these amateurs want to do afterwards than to pile into the pubs to get a load of the craic on offer. It’s one of the most memorable things about this fantastic town, that the atmosphere is so uniquely memorable. If there is only one thing you have time for while you’re in town, make sure that you spend time taking in a match amongst the locals. If you simply can’t fit it in, why not check out our list of pubs showing sport in nearby Thurles.
