The 177 islands that make up Tonga have a rich rugby pedigree with their small population capable of providing a disproportionately good rugby team, currently ranked 11th in the world. Similar to other polynesian countries, the Tongans begin each game with their unique war dance, the Sipi Tau. Coached by Mana Otai and with explosive players such as Fetu’u Vainikolo, the Tongans are certainly capable of some explosive rugby and well worth a trip to the pub to watch. The Sea Eagles will be battling it out in Pool C against nearby rivals New Zealand as well as Argentina, Georgia and Namibia. Make sure you get down to your local boozer early for these games to make the most of the great pub atmosphere!
