Best Cycling Pubs and Sports Bars

Along with sailing, cycling is swiftly becoming one of our largest medal-spinners at the Olympics and it appears that the Tour de France is coming into the focus for British athletes as well with the likes of Froome and Wiggins tearing up the French countryside in recent years. The sport has become increasingly popular with your average punter as well as each year is full of excitement, scandal, and depression as we realise quite how unfit we have all become during the year's sporting occasions.  Now what better way to watch such an occasion than at the pub, cold one in hand? Check out our list of the best pubs in London to watch the Tour.

Lemon Tree - Sports Bar in London More Info

Located slap bang in the middle of London this classic boozer is a great spot to slope off to if you find yourself roped into an extended shopping trip round Covent Garden this summer. Suitably secluded the Lemon Tree has a great selection of lagers, real ales, wines as well as a cracking Thai menu. There are fewer more nicer, and more convenient, places to catch the Tour de France in central London this summer.

131-133 Dulwich Road

SE24 0NG
02073 264 987
Florence - Sports Bar in London More Info

The Florence in Brixton is located on the edge of the lush Brockwell Park, just behind Herne Hill station. Stylishly decked out this pub is very much family (and dog) friendly with a designated playroom for any nippers you may have with you. Don't worry though; the main bar is very much adults only and decked out with three screens that will ensure you'll have a perfect view of the Tour as the cyclists tear around the French countryside. They have a rare selection of real ales and some terrific bottled beers to sup on whilst you consume the race ' well worth a visit.

Unicorn - Sports Bar in Worksop 2 for 1 Guinness During the Rugby

The Unicorn is a dedicated sports and real ale bar that does things a little bit differently. Proudly a food and child free zone, it means you can get on with enjoying your pint and the game. They've got pretty much every channel going meaning they can show some of the more niche sporting events, including plenty of cycling when it's on!

255 Gipsy Road
West Dulwich

SE27 9QY
02087 619 016
Paxton - Sports Bar in London More Info

Down in West Dulwich, The Paxton is real classy old bird and another dream spot to visit if you're after some serious Tour de France action this summer. Their delightful outdoor area is a real draw should the breathless racing get a bit much for you and this gastropub is another spot that welcomes well behaved kids with open arms.
