Despite being (incorrectly) known as the smallest city in England, there is no shortage of pubs showing sport in Wells. It was given city status thanks to the cathedral completed in the 15th century which has become known as the “most poetic” of English cathedrals thanks to its relatively moderate size. Despite the markedly small population for a city (second only to the City of London in size), there is ample going on here to keep you thoroughly occupied. Being in the south-west, the dominant sport in rugby and any tourist with the slightest bit of brains should check out our list of pubs showing the Six Nations.
