Though Leeds may not have a Premier League team like they did in the nineties, it can boast the Leeds Rhinos (many-time Super League champions) and of course Headlingley cricket ground. All of this you may know, but you may not know where the best sports bars and pubs are in Leeds that are showing all this action. That's where we come in. If you're not content with just searching for the nearest pub to you showing live sport on the sports bars page, then check out our list below for our compilation of the best sports pubs in Leeds. We've come up with three beauties so far and we will of course be adding to the list as we go along.
Pubs & Bars
Another belting sports bar in student heartland Headingly. Pool, shed loads of screens and a sun-kissed roof terrace make this a great choice whether rain or shine. Always busy on any weekend, it's the atmosphere's second to none when the Rhinos are playing on TV.
The Brotherhood might just be Leeds' finest sports bar. Boasting screens on every possible surface, this slick sports bar is a cracking place to watch any game. Game of pool between matches? They've even got you covered there. Well worth a visit.
The Gateway Bar & Grill
Proper sports bar down by the canal in central Leeds. Expect more screens than you'd ever need and suitably epic burgers and pizzas on the menu.
Tucked away next to the city's iconic cricket stadium, the Taps is a student favourite offering great value drinks. Obviously fills out when there's rugby or cricket on but also a cracking spot to catch any big football game.
A cracking sports bar in the heart of Leeds' buzzing student community. Quite frankly bazzilions of screens (12 to be precise), three Sky boxes, a delicious sun terrace and party atmosphere make this fun spot any day or night of the week. Also just a stone's throw away from Headingly Stadium, making it a great place to stop off for a pre/post game pint whenever the Rhinos or YCCC are playing.
Arguably the finest sports pub on the Otley Road, the Oak combines great pub grub with reasonable pints and heaps of screens to catch all the live action on. What really stands it apart, however, is their glorious beer garden complete with huge outdoor screen. The perfect place to while away a sunny afternoon.
You'll find the Black Prince mere metres from the train station. Once inside this grand old building houses a buzzing bar set over two floors that's a sports fan's dream. Always worth a visit whenever any of the Leeds teams are on the box, the Black Prince packs a great game day atmosphere.
Templar Hotel (Leeds)
Quality real ale pub in Leeds city centre. A great value pub with a big focus on sport.
