THE sports bar in Edinburgh - 32 screens of sporting goodness with meat and drink an afterthought - though not an afterthought in the sense that it's bad, just that sport's the priority. In fact, both the liquid and solid offerings are pretty great too! |

The Doctors couldn't be better located for those that want to watch sport making it one of the best sports pubs in Edinburgh before you've even walked in! It's right in between the university and the Festival theatre so it's ideal for students on their way out of the library (MatchPint always sees the best in people) and also the thousands who flock up in the summer. Then it's only a stones throw from Princes Street and the heart of the city so if you're looking for the best sports bars in Edinburgh, this is probably the closest you'll get! In February 2012, they had 8 hand pulls meaning an absurdly generous choice of ales. With MatchPint favourite, Deuchars Ale, a regular as well as the locally sourced Stewert's 80, it's a must-visit for all fans of pints! With 4 plasma screens, 3D facilities and a booming garden in the summer, it's also a must-visit for fans of matches! |

Just off Princes Street, The Shakespeare couldn't be more perfectly located for sports fans in Edinburgh. They're incredibly friendly and have the standard Original Pub Co food menu which runs from 12-9 so there's always grub on if you're hungry. What makes it one of the best pubs in Edinburgh for sport though is that it has a cool 5 TVs and a further 2 big screens. They're fairly neutral in their support so everyone should feel welcome. With HD and 3D facilities you can be sure to get the viewing you're after, and with 3 separate Sky Sports boxes, they can show pretty much anything you want as well. Deuchars and Edinburgh Gold are on more often than not and they have a nice terraced seating area in the summer! |

Spacious, contemporary and full of ruddy big screens for live sport on the TV 24/7 (ish!). Definitely a choice spot for the old Six Nations come February time. |
